Years of active fire suppression in California, combined with increasingly dangerous fire-spreading weather conditions due to climate change has led to the largest wildfires on record for the last several years. The smoke here was likely coming from the Ferguson Fire in Yosemite Valley, and possibly to a smaller degree, from the Lions Fire.
